Inspired by my friend Justin, and a host of other blogs along similar lines, I have decided that my time has come to get all gooey about my record collection.

I have been collecting records for as long as I can remember. My first 7″ was Pass The Dutchie by Musical Youth, and up until about 5 years ago, 7″ was my chosen format to collect. Unfortunately due to some poor decisions and an inability to pick good friends, an old flatmate and ex-friend lost almost every single one of my 500 or so 7″ singles. The story is literally too painful to tell.

Anyway, once I pulled myself together, I started to collect again – despite not actually having a record player. Towards the end of last year, again inspired by Justin, a recent trip to America, and a loan from my wife, I purchased myself one of these bad boys and found my passion to be re-ignited with more gusto than ever.
